With the inclusion of game engines like Unreal Engine and Unity
into the television and film industries, those industries are seeking
graduates with expertise in game engine programming, lighting,
modeling, optimization and more.
Game Design students often emerge with
visualization skills relevant to the architectural field. Graduates can
work in the architectural and planning industries using game engines
like Unreal Engine, or 3D modeling software like 3ds Max and Blender,
and applying their understanding of lighting and post-processing to
architectural applications.
Many industries besides games require concept
artists. From signage and display fabrication companies to
event-vehical design/fabrication companies. Game design graduates are
very familiar with the iterative nature of presenting numerous concepts
and iterating various designs and styles, which makes them good for
working as concept artists in many other fields.
